Community wide yardsale days
Is it just me or are the pickings slim at the community wide yard sales??? We just had ours this week (thu-fri-sat) and you know what? I'm not even going to bother going to any of them tomorrow. I had my DD and my DSIS with me and we had over 100 participating sales to go to. We hit the majority of them on Thurs despite the some rain. It was crazy busy with oodles of yard salers everywhere but what I noticed was empty hands coming from most of the sales. I barely bought anything. My DD spent less that $20 too and my DSIS went home with only a couple items. We got there early but the selection of things for sale was so lousy I was very discouraged. Nothing good enough to even mention finding. The biggest shocker was that there was a church sale that was going on at the same time and there was almost nothing there! I don't know why they would even bother to be open for two more days where there was nothing there to buy.
Anyone else noticing slim pickings so far this year? Or is it just that I don't need anything they are offering? We were so disappointed that we went to Goodwill afterwards to get our shopping fix satisfied. (that was a waste of time for me too)Last edited by HandyMom; 05-02-2009 at 12:58 AM.

My neiborhood is having ours today(Saturday only) There seems to be a fair amount of traffic up and down the streets. I stopped at probably a dozen or so. I really don't need anything so I guess I got bored easy. The variety was good I suppose. I wish I had grandbabies because there was a lot of nice things and were priced to sell. Oh, well.
As the weather gets better maybe more people will have good stuff they want to get rid of in their spring cleaning.Married 22 years to Mark
