I didn't get out to any because of intermittent rain also. Although I have bought so much this week I feel guilty.

It was raining Friday, but we went anyway. I found:

    several shirts for dd#1
homeschool curriculuum that I thought I was going to have to buy for ds#1 for $40 (retails for $200+)
    set of silverware
    cookie sheet
    various baking dishes
    some pants and t shirts for dd#2, ds#4, ds#3, and ds#5
set of headphones which I gave to ds#2

dh found a digital camera for $10. He bought batteries for it and it works great.

The kids also bought themselves a few DVDs and videos.

It was a good start of the garage sale season, I thought.

I only went to one yesterday. And it was a fluke I found it. I normally just check the newspaper. Rarely do I check the ads in our pennysaver paper we get in the mail. This sale was only in the pennysaver, and on Craigslist. I happended to find it on craigslist.
Note to self...check more than one source next time for ads.
Anyways, I think I was the first customer at their sale. I went because of the yarn she advertised. It was in a large tote. She had each skein marked individually but I asked for a better deal if I took it all. So I got a very good deal. And even ended up getting some bag fulls of partials for free. Then I bought some knitting needles, and booklets of knitting and crochet. Most of that stuff was marked at .25 each. Needless to say, I blew my *garage sale allowance* at that sale. So I ran a few errands and headed for home.
The day before, I bought a pressure canner for $ 3, and a box of 16 canning jars for $ 1.50. I also bought a large tote of yarn and got a better deal because I took it all. Also some crafting magazines. I was real happy with only hitting a few sales and getting some great bargains. Got my bargain hunting fix in, and home early so we could run our household errands.
I can only hope the rest of the garage sale season goes even half as well.
