It may not be cheap, but it's cheaper than retail. Just think about how much you would have spent at full price. You got some good deals

Some of the clothes prices are good but things like books are outrageous. I looked at 5 different books and all of them were $5! Even paperbacks were $2 or more. Another new outrageous item was Vlasic pickles $2.69 a jar. Ummm I don't think so, not when I can get them a lot cheaper in a store with or without a coupon.

I find that is fairly expensive for a Goodwill. The clothes here run about $2.99 each unless it is in excellent shape and brand name like The Gap or something and they run $3.99 each.

Our local goodwill's are the same way. Expensive unless it's a specific color tag day.
It drives me nut because I already have enough to remember without having to keep track of what day of the month goodwill offers their versions of "bargain/sale" days.
While I appreciate their need to make money, I don't like their high prices & sale days much.

    Unhappy

our good will is spendy too, I think they could sell more if they had lower prices or some sort of combo deal (buy x save y) also.

I guess not! ARe there other thrift shops nearby? Or consignment stores? It's not really bad, that's 7 pieces of clothing for about 35.00, making it about $5 each. I wish you were closer, there's lots of thrift shops I could take you to!

I find some good deals at our Goodwill, but they are far and few between. I do buy things there though because they're still cheaper than retail. The one thing I don't like about our Goodwill is any donations the store in our town and the few small towns surround all go to Birmingham, and then they items are redistributed to the stores. It makes it bad because we live in a fairly nice resort town and a lot of the 'resorters' have nice expensive homes on the lake and get rid of perfectly good items.

Our Goodwill also gets a lot of Target's damaged items, so anything electronic or furniture is usually damaged Target merchandise -- got burned once with something that didn't work like it was supposed to and the store's policy is it's sold 'as-is' and we can't test items before we purchase them (like plug electrical items in to make sure they work!!). That limits our purchases to clothing and accessories, dishes/etc. and decorative items.

wow, I haven't checked this thread in awhile. Sorry I didn't answer you. There is one other store but they tend to get clothes from families of dead people, OLD dead people. I'm not into those fashions... yet. I really miss my old Goodwill, they had the best deals of any of the other stores I've been to. When I lived in Indy I shopped the Salvation Army store. Oh well I'm just going to go in there and only look for clothes.I just might have to take you up on that Judi.
