SA Thrift Store
Our Salvation Army Thrift store just had a new shipment of clothes come in from out of town. They closed the store for a week to weed out the old and in with the new. I went on Monday and I got a brand new please mum dress for my daughter, its actually a size too big but I don't mind that, it still had the tag on it. I Paid 2.00 for it. I also got a brand new shirt with tags on it for DS for 1.49. I got 12 books for .10 cents each. I also got a pair of jeans for dd, and a shirt and a skirt. All around 1.49 and less.
Then a couple of days later my aunt was in there and phoned me to go and look a a coat for my ds, and I go a Columbia Brand spring jacket for him for like 2.00 or something like that, I am not 100% sure on that price because my aunt bought it for him. And I got another 8 books for .10 cents each.
I may go there and have a look around later on this afternoon and see if they have anything else new put out. what they have been doing is as they sell things they have been replenishing them.Kelly

Wow! Now that would've made my day
Nice finds! I wish our's would come down in price. Our's is nothing like the prices I see posted here.
In all honesty, I do better at clearance sales.
A new one though just opened close by. I was so turned off by the other one, I didn't even bother going in. Maybe I'll give it a shot and see. I love thrift store shopping!

I went to SA yesterday. I needed a new glass pot for my 4c coffee pot, found 1 for 49c. Bought 2 yellow Tupperware canisters for 99c each. Bought 3 short sleeves shirts for my dad, 1@1.00 & 2@2.50. Then.. I bought a loud, ugly, dress for my garden lady for 2.00. I was pleased with my purchases.

i am in a small community only like 1500-2000 people, there are other communities around us tho, but I am thinking that is why things are so cheap there

I went to an SA in Queens and spent way too much. Over $50. I got a bike lock, a really beautiful milk of magnesia blue glass bottle, a silk Bloomingdale's scarf, an Alexander McQueen jacket, an Ungaro cape, a Brooklyn Industries dress, and a Zara jacket. There may have been more but I can't remember anything else. I will probably sell the clothes on Feebay with the exception of the AQ jacket. $12!! What a find!!

Our SA is much more expensive than other thrift stores in our area. I rarely find a good deal there. In fact, a lot of the time they're comparable to WalMart prices.

we better all hurry and snatch up all the good stuff. there was an article on MSNBC yesterday (i think, or maybe the day before) that the reason saks, macy's, etc are doing so poorly is that the more discriminatory shopper is hitting good will and salvation army and consignment shops due to the economy
