    Default Chic Frugal Clothes

In one of my blog, I mention that I was having the time of my life shopping at different thrift shops and garage sales. I have found clothes, purses, jewelry, home decor, craft supplies. I now have a new creative outlet, painting and decorating clothes. I usually will decorate my wardore with jewelry, a necklace here, earring there, or a belt to finish it off. Now I stamp, glue, iron-on(this is my favorite application at this time.) Here is an example. I brought this blue jean shirt for one dollar at a garage sales. I developed a hole near the bottom. The old me would have packed it off to another thrift shop to be sold( I give as much as I buy). I found the iron-on at Hobby Lobby for 71 cents. After I ironed the patch on, I used a stencil I found at a thrift shop for 25 cents, along with a fabric marker on the clearance rack at Hobby Lobby for 1.99(5 other colors included with this pack). On my shopping trip to Hobby Lobby, I purchased a small bag of iron-on studs for 1.07(this cost more than the shirt). I think it turned out very nice. I hope you like too. I'm on my way to Hobby Lobby, to buy some more iron-ons. You always find me in the clearance section. Happy Thrifting.

That sounds like fun as well as being thrifty. I'm currently trying to decide on a new hobby that will also allow me to make a little extra money and I have been considering decorating some children's clothing and selling them at my gym. I own a gymnastics gym. Thanks for the ideas!

A new creative outlet for your creative mind, that is a good thing.

That's beautiful and very creative. Great job covering up an ugly hole.

A while back, I saw a link where someone crocheted into the holes in clothes. . . so I've been doing that -- sort of a hippy type patch/repair. I'm loving it.

Sunshine, what a neat idea ~ crocheted patches! My Sister has been a master at this and ebrodries over stains and patches with design like Jetruth, but she's never crocheted.

Now that is totally cute!!! You could even sew in a small one on things like jeans or cotton shirts. Very creative!
