Scored...Again!
I got to go to the Library and one thrift store this week. All I had was $6.00 to spend. I normally only have less than $10.00 a month to spend however I wish.
I got these at the Library for $1.05...
10 free books from the Library's swap shelf. All are historical romance and Nora Roberts books. (free)
3 cute childrens books (25 cents each)
2 historical romance books (10 cents each)
1 quilting book (10 cents)
I got all this at the Thrift Store for $4.00.....
7 yards of fabric (each different, some pieces bigger than 1 yard)
1 pink Batik fat quarter
1 18" Doll coat with white fur and silky lining. ($1.00)
1 "Apt. 9" NEW leather handbag in salmon color ($1.00)
Total spent was $5.05!
I read atleast 3-4 books a week so the books are my biggest savings. I rarely have to "check out" any books from the library because of their abundant "swap" shelves. After I read them I return some the Library for someone else to read, sell some and send some to my Mom who's town doesn't have a swap shelf. I don't like to check-out books at the Library because I don't always have a way to town before the expiration of my books so I DO save money by swaping or buying. Sure beats those Library Fines.
The 3 childrens books will be packaged as birthday gifts since they are like new as well as the dolly coat.Last edited by dolphin; 02-04-2010 at 04:46 PM. Reason: added more info.

FernYes I'm out of my mind. It's a dark and scary place in there.

You did good
And I'm like you about the libary in the bad weather. I don't like to take books out in case I can't get back there due to a bad storm.--------My signature--------

Some great buys - way to go.
Reminded me that I have to check my library calendar - they have a book sale coming up......and I can't miss that! Our library doesn't have a 'swap' shelf but has a 'discard shelf' and you can buy them for 25 cents.

I just gotta tell ya, you sure know how to have fun with your $10!
And personally, I might be VERY tempted to see what I could get off EBay for that leather pocketbook. The name brand and it's great color just might bring you a pleasantly surprising price. From what I see in the stores, salmon is going to be pretty popular this spring.
I think we can all learn a thing or two from you, dolphin!
