    Default Sleds for free!!

With the snow coming this weekend. I went looking for sleds for the kids. I was in Walmart and a older man asked me what I was looking for when I was walking around. I told him about finding sleds. He said he had sleds at home that I could have for free. He has no phone. I live in Mennonite and Amish Country most people don't have phones. So I followed him home and met his wife also. They gave me 4 sleds that were their kids at one time. The way they talk their kids are probably my age. He wouldn't take any money for them. They also gave the kids iceskates.

After talking to them I tell them where I lived. They know exactly the farm we bought. They told me about the family that had the farm. So it was a nice find.

So now the kids can't wait till it snows to try the sleds out. Glen already took them iceskating on the pond last night.

That's awesome! You should have the kids make cookies to take as a way of thanking them!

How cool! I agree w/ MM. Have the kids make them something for a thank you. I bet they would love a picture of the kids using the skates and sleds.

We did make some nut bread and take it over to them yesterday afternoon. I knew they have church most of the day. They were so happy and we met some of their children. This will help us get to know the Mennonite community a little better. They do not go to the same church as we do. More church communities you know out here the better.

That's such a wonderful story! It's so sad that people have gotten so they don't trust anyone any more... I mean, I understand I guess, but if you never trust, then stories like this one just can't happen.A lot of people would never have followed him home, thinking he had an agenda.Good for you that you gave him a chance. And good for him for proving there are genuinely kind people out there...Thanks for sharing!
