Default Garage Sale Season is Coming!

Okay, okay, I know it's still February, but I have the spring garage sale bug.

I just wrote a blog post on how I'm thinking already about what it is that I'm looking for this year, and that is a record player and some records.

Do you go garage saling with something in mind, or do you prefer to just go and see what there is?

Well I always have a running list of things I want in mind. If I find them great, if not, I always like seeing what people have to offer!

I don't have anything in mind when I go - it's another form of entertainment!!

Too bad you weren't here yesterday -we had our first of the season!! And will be having another on 3/6 if you're in the area!!

I prefer to SELL and make money off the no longer needed stuff, especially the kids outgrown clothes.

I prefer to just go and see what there is.

Agree with MM ----just an outing, or entertainment.

If I have something in mind I prefer to go to the thrift shops. More to offer. However, I usually have my 'thrift shop' list with me so I don't forget to look for something.

Sometimes I am looking for certain things. Other times, I am just looking. If I find a good deal for the right money and have some money to spare, I buy it. Usually it's common stuff we need for the house. Once in awhile, it's something I know, I can resell real quick. Like the $ 5 , I spent last summer on a pressure canner in box, and put on craigslist, and got $ 50 for.

Last year, it was the year of small household stuff, dishes and the like. Plus furniture, this year will probably be more of the same. I just can't justify spending the prices they want for new furniture.

So yeah, I have my list but honestly I just wind up buying whatever takes my fancy most times.

I just like to look...don't have a real need for anything specific or else I'd have hunted it down by now. But always fun to browse and if by chance there's a great deal on something I truly can justify using - I'll def think twice about picking it up!

I've been thinking about this. I think perhaps I don't enjoy going as much because the garage sales here are nowhere near like they are by my mother-in-laws in Fl. I always go with ther when we're there. I generally don't go with anything specific in mind though.

Garage sale season doesn't start here until late spring or early summer. August seems to be the peak of the season.Only variation of this is church sales. Since they are done inside.

I find actual garage sales to be normally unproductive unless you want to go out before sun up. People hunt around in the dark with flashlights. So they are no fun (except church sales but get there early at opening normally are round 8)

I tend to shop with things in mind of what we want/need.
