Smile Some desires of her heart

I found some clothing at a Consignment sale today that Little Miss had been desiring.

A while back Little Miss had pointed out a certain skort at Lands' End overstocks that she liked and wanted. A particular one with butterflies on it. I had said no as it was still pricey. Today at the sale I found in her size that same butterfly skort with matching shirt and leggings being sold as a unit (all together). Perfect.

She is going to flip when we sees them.

Also a while back she found on the Hanna Andersson website a sweater that she adored. I said no because it was still pricey.
Today I found that exact same sweater at the Consignment sale in the next size up ( her when winter comes around again size). She will be so surprised.

So even though the consignment sale is higher priced then other places I was able to find two desires of heart for the price I would of paid on sale for just one.

    Awesome!

    Definitely worth the splurge.

All four items were $12.50 so more expensive then the Goodwill but less than Wal-mart and definitely cheaper then the were originally sold - even the sale price.

I found the sweater for sale on line and it said it retailed for $49.95.
I knew there was a reason I had told her no originally.

Edited to add: I just checked out e-bay to see what people were asking for similar
Found the same sweater (but new with tags) they are asking $39 something
Found the skort (used) they are asking $8

Yahhh, I would suggest she avoids shopping online if you two are on a tight budget. It just creates more wants that you don't need. That you didn't even want until you saw them then the urge and desire is there.

That way she's not putting you on the spot to say "no" she is not creating the want/desire in herself in the first place. And if I really get on my high horse, she should know what the clothing budget is and not have to ask you to "be the bad guy" anyhow, as she would know if its a reasonable purchase within the clothing budget.

Yah, I suck at this money stuff, I know. That's why I'm here.

She and I don't normally just window shop on line.
We do look at the overstocks and the Hanna sales. As these are our favorites and will buy them if they are there when the price is right.

She isn't putting me in a bad position when I say no. She is very good about it.

She will still be tickled that she is getting them.

Good things come to those that wait.

Ah! Ok I thought it would be you feeling like either the bad guy saying "no" or she'd feel like the little kid being told no. Typing is so easily misconstrued, you two sound like you have good communication goin' on!

I shopped online the other day and it just drug up all my "I want it!!" feelings. BLEH.

Typing is hard to read emotions into. It makes it easy to read into the post emotions we would be feeling.

We have been shopping this way her whole life. She knows that if something you like is still there when it is the right price then it was destined to be your.

Apparently these outfits were destined to be hers. This time they were just found at another place at a different time. I'm amazed at how often that happens.

Sorry your online shopping dredged up "I want feeling"

Yes, she flipped out! One very excited girl!

The sweater had to be packed away until winter.

The skort has been washed already. She is planning on wearing the skort/shirt combo tomorrow. Her sandals that we bought at the Goodwill a while back that were a "not match much color" but she loved (very comfy) Well, they match the skort. Extra bonus points.

She has already talked about how she can extend the wear into other seasons with the matching carpi leggings, that came with the combo and into winter/fall with a pair of full leggings in her drawer that coordinates.

I have a feeling there won't be much drawer time for this outfit. I'm betting we will see it almost every time it comes out of the wash/
