Question When is your next library book sale?

~Now that I'm a homeschooling mommy with a kid who is reading I made sure to look up the dates on my library's website and write them on my calendar.
Mine is in June, for three days. Hoping to score some great, cheap books!
Do you go to your sale? What do you look for?~

Wow, yours is 3 days? I'm envious; ours is only 1 This year it's on May 22nd. I have a bunch of books I should donate for the sale too --- better get those in this week/early next week.

We have the library book sale twice a year. Spring and fall.

1st day (friends of the library members get first chance to buy)
    2nd day open to all
    3rd day open to all
    4th day $4 a bag sale
    5th day $2 a bag sale

Our last library sale just posted how much money it made for the library. It was over $11,000. I think I read the sign correctly.

At our branch, it's the first Saturday of every month. I could go to all the different branches, too, because they have them on different days

Funny you should ask! We have TWO this weekend. The one on our Army base is Friday through Sunday. I like to go on Friday to get the good stuff before it's gone, then again on Sunday because it's $1 bag sale

Our local library (1 block away) also has their book sale this weekend. They don't normally have as good deals as the one on post.

Our local homeschool group is also have a used curriculum/books n' more sale on May 15. I'm super excited about that too because we got some GREAT deals last year

I mainly look for chapter books we don't have, workbooks/textbooks, reference books, etc. They also have VHS tapes too, so I go through them looking for educational videos. At the post sale last year I got almost the entire set of the Chronicles of Narnia books and the Harry Potter books as well as textbooks/workbooks, and a few VHS.

The children's library here had an ongoing sale because they were moving things around or renovating or something. Everything was .25 or 5/$1, I had $2 in my pocket, bought 10 books and would not let myself go back. It's still pulling me, I even returned our books to a different branch to avoid going again.

Apparently they have a table in the adult section year round - donated books and few pulled from circulation - and I see a big sale advertised every September.

There's a used curriculum sale up the street every April. I was going to go this year but thought it best to stay away after we decided to move.

We have a bunch. LSU have a Book Bazaar every year...2 entire building full of donated books. Reasonable prices, half price on Sunday. Then the Inner Wheel organization has a "Trash to Treasure Sale" including books, again half price on Sunday. This last weekend our Church had our festival and they also take book donations to sell. Come Sunday it was "fill a garbage bag for $7"...too bad I'd spent all my money by then, lol. Also, our local library is continuously selling, they have a table in the lobby with books that are weeded out.

That is what ours is too, imagine. Only twice a year....and only ONE DAY! And.....only for six hours. From 9 to 3. Then from 2 to 3 is $1 a bag for books but it can be pretty picked over by then. Also, you don't want to go at 9 unless you are into getting TRAMPLED and pushed around and often by stinky people! Survival of the fittest at our sales!! I go about 10ish....

Ours was last Saturday and I made some great scores. 25 cent paperbacks and 50 cent hardbacks.

PLUS.....they were asking for volunteers for it and I told them to count me in..........BUT ONLY IF I COULD SHOP. Not only can I shop....I get to shop ahead of time!!! How cool is that???

    WOOHOOOOOOOO!!!

Our library never has a big booksale. They keep a 'sale rack' year round.

But don't people donate books to your library?

Mine has two small bookshelves that they will put the 'pulled books' on and they keep that going year around. But they get so many books donated that they would fill it up.

Mine is the same way, but I don't know for sure that they don't have a big sale also. I just went on Tuesday during the fresh market we have every week and got 2 practically new books for $1 each.

June 4. However, I have a house full of books I haven't read. I'm making donations for the sale and will go to see if I can find anyFrench chapter books. I will definitely have to limit myself.
