Are you all aware of Search Tempest and Hank's Helper? They started as search engines for Craig's Lists and now also cover kijiji and other places. Tempest for general stuff, Hank's for cars. You can do a geographical radius search and get a bunch of different CL locations that would be a pain to search otherwise.

For second hand....it was probably books....ages ago. Before I became addicted to my library book sales. Did buy some yarn too.
But I buy a lot of other things on ebay.........new mostly, as I can't find used for what I want. Garden 'things' was most recent purchase.

Magazines. Back issues of poultry. Now that I read them, I may put them back up on ebay. They were a bit pricey.
I have bought regular yarn and books. Some knitting needles in a nice case.
Lately I been researching salt and pepper shakers because I am currently selling off a large collection. I have seen a few I would like to bid on, but usually the ones I like are up there in price. I am trying hard not to bid on any of them. I started a collection of chickens, roosters, and eggs for myself. It puts a smile on my face, so as long, as I keep the dollar part low, I will be okay.

I've bought a good number of jigsaw puzzles, but you have to know your brands and watch shipping that be quite high since they are relatively heavy. I consistently see the little cheap ones I can get at the dollar store for $3 + shipping. I also only buy if the seller guarantees it is complete.
Other than that, I've always bought new stuff there.Donna

a tiger maple chippendale mirror for my screaming pink bedroom.
11% gross to retirement
10% takehome to tithe and offerings
emergency fund maintained at 3000(works for me)
credit card debt 7500
mortgage free
freedom accounts/sinking funds that ebb and flow
then live on the rest!
i am trying something new. LDS church advises savings or debt repayment should be the same as the tithe. 10% each.

I just ordered a used copy of The Encyclopedia of Country Living. I had been looking for about 2 years for one but I wasn't going to pay no $30 for a book!! I had to get my mom to order it because paypal was slow since I hadn't used Ebay in over 5 years and lost my password for paypal. I found out I have just over $8 credit on paypal still that I didn't know I had, so now I get to order something else!
I got the book for $18 with shipping, so I saved $12 and now I don't have to be disappointed every time I go to a place with used books and can't find it!

I just bought a new bra on eBay. I tried them on at the store and got the make, model, and size. I paid a total of $8 (shipping included) on eBay. It would have cost me $22.95 plus tax at the store.

DH put his phone through the washing machine again - no spare phones left. I don't remember the exact price, but I got a used cell phone in decent shape, a little wear, for under $20, including shipping. It was a model he had before. It works perfectly.
