Sell everything but the kids!
I went to a multi-family yardsale today. I asked if it was a benefit sale or something and I found out that it was a group of people that had been doing a Dave Ramsey course.
This exercise was to "sell everything but the kids" to raise money for EFs or snowballing. It was fun to talk frugal with them a bit!
I got a nice large reusable cold pack for the SO for 35c and a clock radio for $1. I can't figure out how to make the clock radio work, so maybe it's junk

Well that's cool about them all doing DR, but not cool about your clock.

Agree, cool about the yard sale. I wish we lived, just long enough, somewhere where a yard sale would go. We are ( right now ) the only house on the street and slightly in the middle of nowhere but yet in a housing community. Hard to explain. But I like it with no neighbors.
Bank of America is THE godfather of Hell with Wells Fargo running neck and neck. When the world ends the only things that will be left are cockroaches, Walmart, Wells Fargo and Bank of America. Not necessarily in that order. The order remains to be seen.

Info at the bottom of posts
How do you get the info. at the bottom of all the posts? How do you do the challenges. I have read and listened to the DR books & tapes. I am looking to reduce our spending and to declutter the house also. Like the visual reminders.

We started the DR classes - just finished class 2.
Already read the book, just thought I may get something out of the class that I was missing doing it on our own.

Mahalo for the reminder - I bought one of his books, but never started it - I'm sure it works much better if you read the book!!
What a great idea for a yard sale!!Travel light. The baggage of the past can only hold you back.

I'm not sure why selling the kids is a bad idea either.
If you could kick in the pants the person responsible for your problems, you wouldn't be able to sit for a month.
Did you know that a 4 year student paying $20,000/year who finances their education graduates with over $103,000 in debt to start? But a student who works and pays cash and takes 6 years to graduate ends with $6,300 in their pocket! So much for "getting a head start by financing!"

Maybe I could rent 'the little black girl' out to someone that 'THINKS' they might want a small dog! (with a BIG attitude!)
