Ever self conscious wearing thrift?
~I hardly ever am. In fact, it caught me by surprise last weekend when I started examining the outfit I was wearing before heading into the toy store.
I'd owned the sweater for 6+ years and bought it used. Was it ratty or pilly looking? Had I got into such a rut of wearing it that I couldn't see how it truly looked? Was the bulky cable knit with turtleneck style too dated? Did I look ridiculous?
I did what I usually do whenever I've felt that way. I assured myself that I liked it and that's all that mattered.
I went into the store. And when I checked out I was surprised and amazed when the young cashier gushed about how much she liked my sweater.

Never - At this moment I am wearing a sweater I bought used 4 years ago and it is my most fashionable sweater.
I don't announce it to the world because they can't tell the difference.
Hopefully you just said thank you when the cashier complemented you and thought what a great shopper you are.

Usually I don't care about my clothes. I just put on something comfortable... But if I'm going out then I do care.

Nope-- NEVER. I'm generally proud of the fact that I spend less than full price on my clothing, even my scrubs for work.
I can buy better quality at the thrifts, than I'd ever be able to afford retail.

No. I'm still wearing clothes I bought 11 years ago, and they look fine. Some shirts I got from the father in law may be older than that even.

I may even be a little smug knowing that I paid a small price while some others have paid a lot for the same labels !

No, not a bit. I love the clothes that I end up getting at Goodwill.

I don't at all. I get a lot of compliments on the items that I bought at my local thrift store. Most of the items I have have a brand type label and inside I am happy knowing that I paid a fraction of what it would cost in the regular store.

No reason to feel self-concious - how would anyone know that these are thrift store clothes?
Travel light. The baggage of the past can only hold you back.
