    Default Auction find

dh told dd & I about a weekly auction he'd hear about in a town about 50 miles away. We make that trip about once a month or every 6 weeks for items we can't get in our little town. They have a Sam's (company I work for provides my card) in addition to other places that double coupon, so I can justify the trip & we make that our fun day; we also take our drinks & snacks with us.

Well, we went to this acution & it was great. they had realistically priced furniture, pictures, mirrors, pots & pans, coins, glassware, you name it, they had it. What we left with was a Disney walker for dd's 2 month old to use when the time comes & we got it for $7.50 & it's in perfect shape. I think it's about $40 or so at the store.

I have decided that I will try to only buy something new if I cannot find a reasonable "second or third hand" substitute.

Good for you. My landlady has totally redecorated her home with auction finds that she has repurposed. Her home looks like an antique shop. I haven't been to an auction since I was a child. My parents used to go about once a month.
