    Default Goodwill Outlet???

If my daughter has saturday classes, I drop her off and go to the goodwill outlet on Harrison Avenue in boston. I was coming out of the store (after scoring a jones on new york red dress for 6.99) and noticed a sign pointing to the side of the building that said goodwill outlet. Everything was in bins. books were 3 for a 1.00 and tapes, shoes 2.00, and can't remember the clothes. I did look in the childrens books and tapes ended up getting 3 tapes and 3 childrens books for 2.00. There were more people in their then in the store.

    Very cool.

When we lived in Minneapolis, the main Salvation Army store there had a basement filled with bins and all kinds of interesting stuff in them. The best bargain by far I found was a base for my Oster Kitchen Center. My original one had just quit working. The base was in perfect condition and was even the correct color to match the rest of my KC stuff. I got the new base for only $1! I love when that happens!

Oooo... We love Goodwill Outlet. We all call it "The Bins" out here. You can find some good stuff there for super cheap. We always go as a group and put our stuff together so we can get the cheapest price per pound.

I've never been, but when I lived in the US, there was one about 45 minutes from me that sold everything by the pound. I always wanted to go, but figured my savings would've been eaten up by the cost of gas, so I never did make it out there.

That must of been what dh and I went to in Nashville a couple of months ago when he went to see his diabetes specialist. We have a Tom Tom and were looking for Goodwills that were close. That one was a dud.

I was in Nashville with my sis a couple of weeks ago at another hospital and we talked to some people there who told us where a good one was in a more affluent neighborhood so next time dh and I go we are going to it. Actually found out about 2 but one isn't in Nashville but in a town on our route home.

I used to go to a Goodwill outlet when I lived in Charlotte...it was one of the kind where clothes were sold by the pound. I wish we had one like that around here.

I've gotten some really great finds there. Some days it is not as good as others. Thrift early and thrift often! After you go to the Bins, you will find the regular Goodwill prices outrageous. But you never know what you might find, a vintage Coach bag, or a pile of ratty sweatshirts and comforters, an Oxford Old English Dictionary or a baby's soiled diaper.
