I totally agree about the prices of secondhand stuff going up! Our Goodwills are ridiculous. I can find things on clearance at highend dept. stores for less!
I did find a good, but rather small thrift store the other day that benefits the local crisis center. Good prices, nice merchandise, and everything is very clean. Tomorrow and Friday they are having everything 1/2 price to make room for more merchandise. Getting up early in the morning to be there when the doors open!

LOVE the flower hooks and the lamp!

UPDATE: I made it to the 1/2 off sale. Got there before the doors opened. Found the cutest white rocker for my deck. Excellent condition. Marked $20 so got it for $10!

    Love the lamp!!!!!

Yes, prices here going up as well - GoodWill sometimes has more pricey stuff than the store price! Although GoodWill can be hit or miss - sometimes I find great stuff - baby clothes - for super cheap, and kids books.

I hit a garage sale last weekend and got a book series for teen girl for $2, a child's rocking horse for .75 and two purses for .50 each.

Estate sales can be tricky - I've gotten some GREAT deals at estate sales, if you wait until the second day especially. I recently got a tobaggan for $1, a fishing net for $1, a socket wrench set for $4. I previously got a set of 15 antique crystal glasses for $2 each.

    Save more $ in ES

I got a la-z-boy recliner at one of my Goodwill stores for 25.00. It looks new except it had a small place where it looked like someone had rubbed the end of the arm and made the top layer of material come off. I was able to weave some blue embroidery floss in it and it looks great. If I can find the right material I will make some arm covers for it as well.

I just realized what a great deal I did get two weeks ago at the SA store on the other side - It was in a bin outside - with everything 50 cents - I picked out a dark green satin dress for my preschool dress up box, but have realized that it will be much too big for my little ones.............so I am going to use my 50 cent great deal to make Christmas bags, little giffts, etc. Cannot wait to see how much I can get out of it all!!
Travel light. The baggage of the past can only hold you back.
