    Default Love my find!

I have a dd that doesn't move alot. And I'm doing all I can to keep her going. She is like mom, quite content to relax...

Anyways, I asked her about bikes. She has a mountain bike, but doesn't like it, as it never fails, she'll have the chain fall off. SO, I was on a mission to find a bike with no gears. You'd think it be easy, but NO WAY. She fell in love with a 1960's bike, but it was too big. So the search continued. Dh said just get new bike, but dd12 would like a retro bike too. She has out grown hers.... SO, just as I was about to cave, I found a bike for dd14. It is 1 year old, ridden one summer, and our summers are short, still has all the little nubbies on it. Then we found a 3-speed for dd12. Now, the gear shift isn't working. But when we went to remove the extra hand brakes, we realized that they'd have to disconnect the shifter to get this style brake on the handle bars, we're thinking they didn't properly adjust the gear shifter when they reconnected the cable. So dh will look at it. So for the price of 1 new bike I have 2 bikes and enough to possibly get a 3rd bike for mom too!

I absolutely love these cruiser bikes. They are SO comfortable. I've been zipping around the cul-de-sac for an hour, and my buttocks aren't complaining like on the mountain bike. I can see this being a routine evening jaunt will all of us, since dd7 can now ride very welll Hoping that dh will agree to selling the mountain bike and I can get a cruiser too. If it's enough for a straight across exchange.. why not?

They are so cool! Single speed

I took the little one(7) and dd`12 for a bike ride....2 hours later we're home. It's fantastic to get out The bikes were very comfy. Need to see about a bigger bike for dd7, hers is too small, I thought it would be ok.

Loving this... We sold one of our old bikes, the one that dh said I could ride, but I found it uncomfortable. So he said" whatever". he wasn't happy. I sold it for $40.

When I was looking at bikes, one I liked was listed at $100. But it had a blown inner tube, so couldn't ride it. I didn't go look at it. Yesterday I looked, and it was listed for $60. Today I looked up the bike, and the lower end ones today start at $400!

So today I called, and we went to look at it. DS17 came with, and he commented that it looked like the front rim might be bend. Texted dh and said that we could get it trued at the local bike shop. I asked him what should i offer, he said if it was a nice bike, whatever. I offered $40, she took it.

Picked up a tube, to find it IT was defective.. so that has to go back, and ds had one in his bike parts. So he put the tube in, lowered the seat, to find out the rim wasn't bent, but if it was, he had one on stand by.

SO, $40 and mom has a cruiser bike too Guess what we're doing tonight if it isn't raining?
