many happy finds today at Goodwill
We have not found much there for a while but today we found
1) one high school mascot shirt for Buddy ( these are rare and hard to find even in stores) $1.79
2) a school mascot front license plate we have wanted one for a while so we did splurge and picked this up for $2.69 The only other place I have seen are on other peoples cars.
3) a new with tag Arizona shirt ( the long and lean kind) $3.59 ( that is what the grown up size shirts are now costing at the Goodwill.
4) a Columbia white "camp" shirt ( do they call them that anymore?) with a feminine eyelet sort of weave. Little Miss say girls these days wear them as over shirts these days. It does button up nice and is some what dressy and fits the orchestra concert uniform rules. Definite plus in my mind ( another school supply checked off the list) $3.59
5) but Little Miss's favorite ( and she paid for it with her own money ) was this
http://www.amazon.com/Blip-Squinkies...ords=squinkies
The girls around here love Squinkies. The set was almost complete just missing the furniture and the dog Squinkies. It was also a dispenser, like a gum ball machine. Put money in turn that crank and one come out a Squinkie in a ball. She has been playing shopping with her dolls, pretending they are stopping by the machines outside of a store. She spent. $1.79
3 from a shopping list and 2 for our wish list. A good day shopping at the Goodwill.Last edited by imagine; 07-20-2012 at 03:33 PM.

Wow, great finds, especially on the mascot stuff. They really see you coming with that stuff, at least here.
Sounds like the Squinkies thing is making your little girl happy! At such a great price, too.
We haven't found much lately, so I have to get a vicarious thrill from everyone else's finds.
Adult shirts here at our GW are $4.29.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Doesn't it make you feel all extra smug when they do that? LOL

oh and she has plans for the Squinkies at school. ( I think things might change at middle school but we will see)
The girls last year put them on the end of their mechanical pencils. ( Little Miss did not have any mechanical pencils)
Little Miss rescued this kind of mechanical pencil from the trash at the end of last year (she ask the friend that threw it away if she meant to then asked if she could have it)
Walmart.com: Paper Mate Design Mechanical Pencil Starter Set, 0.7mm, Stainless Steel/Black/Pink Floral: Office
The Squnikies fit on the end of these kind of pencils and Little Miss had been waiting for both the mechanical pencil and the Squinikies.Last edited by imagine; 07-20-2012 at 04:05 PM.

Sounds like a girl on a mission! Glad she finally was able to get both parts. Love when that happens, too.

Sounds like some people have "vultures" in their Goodwill store! I usually do not have problems with people watching me to see if I put something back but I did one time! I saw a Dewalt cordless drill set for $9 and snagged it. A Spanish speaking guy and his wife were in front of me and when he saw me pick up the Dewalt set he started yelling at his wife for not getting it before I did. They followed me all around the store and even out to the jeep! It was kinda creepy! Usually everything is just fine in Goodwill. I gave the set to my husband and found out later that he sold the set to his buddy for $75. Apparently the set was a new one that is pretty expensive and the people at Goodwill didn't know it but apparently the Spanish speaking man did! I think it may have gotten donated by accident or something. My husband would rather chew off his own arm than give away his tools!

Dang, I'd follow you around for a DeWalt drill too! (J/K, sorta.) Getting a DeWalt for $75 would be a steal, let alone $9! We have three DeWalt drills and they're the most used tools we own. I just used one about ten minutes ago, in fact. Couldn't keep house without them.
We didn't find much today, but I did pick up a thingy for our trailer. It's not a hook but it's for hanging stuff. It stuck out too far from the wall so I cut that down and re-drilled it and installed it in the trailer for hanging dog gear from. It's shaped like a canoe so it fits the northwoods theme I'm planning in there. I got that for $1. Hope it works out.
I also got a bag of small plastic balls that are reusable ice cubes. I'm going to give those a try and see how they'll work. I'm hoping I like them because they would be perfect in the trailer freezer so I didn't have to deal with ice cube trays that might spill. I'm not optimistic, but they're worth a try. Those were $1, too.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

We got a fantastic sale on a DeWalt set in a case one year. My husband got it for me for Christmas. It had five tools plus the case, charger, and batteries, for about $250. This was a few years ago. BUT my husband likes to dig to the back of the shelf to see if there are any bonus packs to be had. A lot of times those get overlooked and shoved to the back of the shelves when the new stock is put in. And guess what? He found one that had the five tools PLUS a bonus drill/driver! It was an old promotion, but the same product number as what was on the ad. What a deal! The kit was about $150 off at that time, plus the drill/driver was worth another $80. We were just ecstatic! We use the drill/driver as much as the big drills. Very handy.
The second big drill we bought because we needed batteries, and at that time, a new drill on sale with two batteries only cost about $20 more than two new batteries alone would have. We'd have been crazy not to buy the extra tool. I love both those drills because I have bad wrists, but they're so well balanced I can work with them all day long without pain, unlike our old, gun-shaped drills.
Yes, I learned about DeWalt tools from contractors who worked here. They loaned me tools from time to time, and I developed a serious case of tool envy. Glad we bought them though. They should last us for our lifetime. I still remember the first time I picked up that big DeWalt drill and how good it felt on my hand and wrist. That right there sold me.
I guess you can tell I love a good tool!
All I found at GW today was a picture frame. It's one of those resin ones and it's a bear in a canoe. I'm going to put a mirror in it and put it in the camper. It's so cute! It was $2. Not sure what the mirror is going to cost. I might have to buy one from the hardware store.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
