thrift store score
Hit the thrift store right when Target unloaded tons of new sneakers. I'm so glad I waited to buy back-to-school sneakers for my oldest daughter. I was able to buy several pairs for far less than the price of what I would have typically paid for a single pair. She's so happy to have a variety to switch out. I'm thrilled that she's set for the year. I went back to return one pair that was a little snug and they were all gone except for one pair that was returned and not the same type, but I grabbed them anyway. There were hundreds and poof within a couple of hours, there were none. LOL
The last time I went, I found a nice new jump rope for her. It was a nice quality one that counts the jump rotations. If you'd like to help support Frugal Living by Sara Noel, my syndicated column, e-mail, write, or call the managing editor at your local newspaper and ask them to publish it in print or online. Ouch, FF!
Congrats, Sara. It always feels so good to have a big need met and be done with it.
I remember shopping like that when we had eight kids to outfit for school. We lived in Minneapolis then and the garage sales and thrift stores were a gold mine. The sewing machine never stopped running, either. Back in the good old days when you could get quality fabrics for cheap even at retail.
I loved those days!
