Thrift store finds
One of the things I purchased quite a few of at thrift stores were stuffed animals for my son.
My initial thinking was that I wouldn't want to do this, but I kept seeing some nice quality plush like Russ and Gund.
I picked up many in my travels for about $.05-$.25 a piece. I put them in a pillowcase and washed them and then into the dryer. The higher quality plush washes so nicely. These animals look brand new for the fraction of the cost.

What a great idea! Ive found TY beanies for my collection (with tags) and the kids (without tags lol). Ive never paid more than $1.00 for each of them.

Can you believe that there are people who pay FULL price for stuffed animals for their dogs? Gypsy, my dog, is murder on stuffed toys. WHY would I spend $6-7.00 for a toy for her to TEAR UP when I can buy one for a quarter at a garage sale? She doesn't care that it's not the latest toy or if it's stained!

I do the same here for my little poochie, but just a fyi be sure to take any hard eyes and noses out of stuffed anmimals and sew them shut before giving to your canine buddies. They can easily chew them out and choke on them.
We also have quite the collection of TY for my dd through garage sales, can't say I have given just a dollar for them. But I am a sap for my dd and the most I have given is 2.00.

I only buy the toys that have the eyes already pulled out or are embroidered. Thanks for the heads up; there are many owners out there who don't knwo this.
