We went to the city wide garage sale that was about 20 minutes from us too, LOL. They have it once a year in the fall and there are always great deals there.

One that we went to had all the clothes for 10 cents each. They had bunches of little girls clothes the perfect size for my youngest grandbaby. I got her bunches of shirts, pants, dresses, 2 winter coats, summer outfits for next summer, and then I asked her how much she wanted for the baby blankets and she said "Oh 10 cents on those also, I just don't want to have to take them back inside". I got a hand crocheted baby afghan and 2 hand quilted baby quilts for 10 cents each, WOO HOO! I was a happy Grammy at that sale. My grand total there was $2.80 and she even threw in all the baby clothes hangers.

At the many other sales I got:

Folk Art type print framed and matted $2.00
Long framed print (probably 3 feet) of bell peppers $1.00 (I know it sounds ugly but it is really cute and I am putting it above my kitchen window
2 old very old coffee jars (from when it was packaged in glass instead of metal cans, I think WWII era) $1.00 each
2 old snuff jars with lids, (one has Ball written on the jar) .25 cents each
3 Tupperware cannisters with the push button tops from 2 different sales, they are clear with an orange push button top, I got (2) 6 1/2 cup sizes and 1 spaghetti keeper size, all for .50 cents each
    Book-A Quilter's Country Christmas (hardback w/dustcover) $1.00
    Book-Country Quilts (hardback) $1.00
    Book-BH&G America's Heritage Quilts (hardback w/dustcover) $1.00
20 embroidery transfers (Aunt Martha) with assorted days of the week themes for tea towels or quilting (most had not even been opened $1.00
1 queen sized plum colored heavy comforter in excellent shape $3.00
1 queen sized white colored heavy comforter with some stains (I think I can get them out though or I might make a duvet cover for it) $1.50
Brand new tab top curtains for my guest room $2.00
Dr Suess fleece pullover jacket with hood (1 fish 2 fish blue fish red fish on the pocket) like new condition $2.00
Beautiful moss grean sweater cardigan for myself $2.00
Tickle me Cookie Monster w/batteries perfect shape $1.00
    Elmo back backpack $1.00
Large sewing basket, the kind that are like a bag that hangs on a frame, really nice shape $3.00
Metal meat tenderizing hammer 25 cents
Pretty Christmas basket with wooden lid and embroideried sentiment on top of lid (perfect to fill with Christmas candy as a gift for my manager at work) $1.00
Pecan picker upper (it has a handle and a flexible spring on the end that is U shaped and you just put it down on the pecan and it pops through the spring and is held inside until you empy it and it keeps you from having to bend over and grab them) $2.00 (this was one of favorite bargains of the day

I am sure that there is probably more but those are the ones I can think of off the top of my head.

We had a really nice day, Dh and my MIL and myself all went and after sailing all morning we stopped at the Catholic church and had bbq sandwiches and chips and sodas for lunch at their fundraiser.
