It is like the Salvation Army but Goodwill usually employs people with disabilities or greatly disadvantaged people. There will usually be a few people without disabilities managing but the main workforce is normally disabled to a degree. I am most happy to shop there, as long as the prices are competitive b/c of that.

We have a Goodwill here but I haven't seen any handicapped people working there, at least not up front at the cash register. The prices run a little higher than Salvation Army.

Thank you, everyone here has been speculating on what exactly it was. Our Salvation Army store is across the street along with big lots so it's location makes sense to me now.

You will often find good deals at the Goodwill. In addition, you can donate items you no longer need and get a receipt for tax deduction purposes. I find loads of items at my local goodwill. The Salvation Army store in my area is higher priced.

I love GoodWill. They usually have a certain colored tag 1/2 price each week. I almost never buy anything there unless it's the 1/2 price tag.

Our goodwill here is nice enough, but the prices are double that of Salvation Army and not near the selection.
The half off days are really nice though.
Congratulations on one opening near you.
I love shopping at thrift stores.
