    Default Do you like reading about thrift store finds? If so, read on ...

    Well, I hit the thrift store today: $5/bag sale .. and I had a few things too big for the bag, so my total was $8:

    * Leslie Fay dress for me
    * 4 turtlenecks for me (mfgrs: St Johns' Bay; Jonathan Martin; Lands' End; and Arizona Jeans)
    * pair of RED velour sweat pants for me
    * 2 pair long gloves for DD's halloween costumes
    * 2 gaudy St Patrick's Day necklaces
    * a dozen chopsticks
    * denim dress (but too small for me right now)
    * white/blue print dress (too small, alas!)
    * reversible tank and skirt (the tank fits me, the skirt doesn't)
    * small round Tupperware container w/ lid (1 qt?)
    * Mosaic puzzle/game

    The 2 things I couldn't fit into the bag:
    * large flannel flat sheet (raw material for a window quilt?)
    * a regular-size purse by Toby Weston (http://www.tobywestonhandbags.com , color 'Bryony' best describes it) It's in perfect shape...and, per the web site, the selling price is $69.50.

    Awesome finds "Why pay full price when you can get it for le$$!"

    * a regular-size purse by Toby Weston (http://www.tobywestonhandbags.com , color 'Bryony' best describes it) It's in perfect shape...and, per the web site, the selling price is $69.50.
    WOW! The purse is the best bargain of all I've never heard of that name it's looks really pretty.

    * Leslie Fay dress for me
    When I was in Junior High/High School my cousin Diane was an assistant designer for Leslie Fay. One of the names of a division of Leslie Fay was OUTLANDER that she designed so I got lots of the models samples most of them were 2 piece dresses. I got a few of the FENN WRIGHT & MANSON clothes too! So I was stylin as a teen but meanwhile the year before I was dressed in ugly style clothes & some kids were mean to me since they were "rich" & only wore designer jeans. (I got most of my clothes from the Church's rummage sales) not that there's anything wrong w/that since I still shop for bargains but you know how mean kids can be.

    My favorite was the white/w roses print top/skirt which had an elastic waist & I wore this for Miss Solidarity when I was one of the Princesses (it was a contest & having to do w/Polish Heritage) We were in a parade on 4th of July & @ that time my ex-boyfriend (who broke-up w/me for all the wrong reasons) was a special cop (he looks a bit like Noah Wyle now) & they have the roads blocked so he was standing @ his location keeping traffic away, etc. in the parade route.

    Later on he found me @ the fireworks celebration & told me how beautiful I looked, & how come I never wore dresses when we went out? I was surprised.

    We were still friends & I met DH from him since they were friends & we all hung out together.

    I found out many years later he broke up w/me since he was getting too attached to me & didn't want to break my heart if/when his family moved from NY to another state!
