    Default Thrift store bag sale, and I snuck away from the family ....

    I spent a whopping $12! And I came home loaded down. In fact, had to make 2 trips OUT of the thrift store:

    * wrought-iron plant stand ($1)
    * 5 napkin rings ($1)

    Here's what I fit into 2 paper bags for $10. Except for the books and the 'Talbot' skirt, all of it was for me:

    Bag #1:
    * Guiness Book for the Millinium -- for the kids.
    * ivory Northern Reflections cotton vest
    * "Alps" vest in a grey/brown pattern
    * Eddie Bauer henley (jewel red)
    * 'Cherokee' cardigan (grey, brown, olive pattern)
    * 2 Country Living magazines
    * 2 'Copper Key' LS button down shirts -- one in dark rose and one in dark turquoise
    * "Talbots" periwinkle 3/4 sleeve tshirt
    * Lands End pink cotton tank
    * 'Napa Valley' long sleeve shirt
    * 'Talbots' skirt for DD

    Bag #2:
    * 1 book -- Readers' Digest road maps -- for DH
    * Elizabeth cotton polo in periwinkle
    * Lands End pink ss crew sweater
    * Eddie Bauer ss cotton cardigan (beige)
    * Northern Reflections LS maroon top (bulky)

    I also bought some things that I might give back to them. They fit in the bags, but the fabrics weren't the greatest:
    * Paul Harris beige turtleneck
    * NY & Co thermal top (mostly polyester) bulky -- took up a lot of space in Bag #2.

    Anyway, I couldn't even buy ONE of those items for $10 in the store. So, as long as 2 or more fit, I'm ahead of the game!

    With Bag #1, I took the time to roll everything up tightly. Bag #2, I was running out of time, so I did a rough fold.

    Sure pays off to roll things up!

    That's so great. I love thrifting, but haven't gone in a while. I'll be heading again soon to look for some potential gifts for the kids. I buy a lot of their books there for Christmas gifts.

    I finally uploaded some of the photos of my haul from that bag sale:

    You can't tell from the pic, but one of the shirts is teal-green; the other is ruby.

    Isn't this a nice group for spring? Lands' End (the 2 pink tops), Talbots, and Elizabeth.

    and

    My favorites are the Talbots turtleneck and the Alpine vest. The Cherokee sweater (far right) had a hole in it, so I didn't keep it.

    Don't you just love thrift stores!!! I got some really cute Christmas decorations at my local thrift store. They were brand new, tags still on. I guess someone got them for a gift, and didn't like them. Oh well.... it was great for me!!!!

    Great deals!!!

    I love thrift store bag sales. We have them twice a year here, with the cost only $3 per bag. At one sale they were $1 per bag. I can't imagine not having thrift stores.
