    Talking My fabulous free spree

While I was in one of our local thrift stores Saturday the owner mentioned that she needed help sorting/putting out all of her Christmas merchandise, and said if I wanted to help her the next day she'd trade out my time for stuff. Of course I couldn't resist that offer.

When I showed up the next day she said she'd give me $6 in stuff for every hour of work. I stayed a little over four hours, and boy did I rack up. I got:

5 rolls of unopened wrapping paper
a new roll of curling ribbon
    unopened snowman garland for wrapping
5 hardback christmas books for the kids
    a Christmas hat box
    a kid's snowman shirt
    girl's snowman tights
3 Christmas necklaces for the kiddos
a very unusual square Christmas wreath
a brand new, still in the box Pottery Barn candle
    an unopened cinnamon bun candle
    a kid-size tennis racket
a still in the box Christmas Barbie doll
a Winnie the Pooh painting book (unused)
a Winnie the Pooh gift tag (has a place to add a photo)
    3 Christmas stuffed animals
a Christmas Scooby Doo music box
5 chinese take out box styled gift boxes w/a holly pattern (new)
    a twig star Christmas decoration
    a box of ornament hooks

When the owner looked through my stash she decided it was only worth $5.50 and gave me $20.00 in store credit on top of that!

I can't believe how much I ended up with. I stuck a lot of things in my gift closet, plus had fun surprising the kids with some unexpected goodies.

You can bet I plan to help out again next year.
