Thumbs up Found some silverware at St. Vincents...

The silverware looked exactly like the stlye that I had and it was also by Oneida.. I paid 5.00 for a fourty piece set, plus serving fork, slotted serving spoon and one lonely ice tea spoon... I got home to find out that it was actually the higher end quality flatware than what I had... I went online and found out to replace the exact ones I got total for five dollars it would cost me 385.00 ... Definately more than my sister paid for at Wal Mart 8 years ago... LOL I think this has been my biggest and best find ever.... YEAH!!! I might go back Wed and see if I missed any strays.... DH doesn't know yet... I hope he won't mind the five bucks.....

That is fantastic! Isn't it great to find these deals? Ten years ago, I saw a set of silverware in a shoebox at a garage sale. It was completely black and tarnished, but I decided to gamble and spend the $10. It cleaned up beautifully with silver polish (It was silver plate). I did some research and found out it was a 1938 Rogers Brothers pattern called "First Love." Now these 8 place settings are my good stuff! It even has iced teaspoons.

You could always sell your old set on eBay. I am sure you could recoup your $5.00!

That is great. Our local St. Vincents is only open a few hours each week but I love shopping there. I can usually find some nice items at a great price and the money is for such a good cause.

I wish I could find my pattern (Onedia Dover) at a thrift store for the price you paid for yours. I always see the bargains but when I see them they are in someone else's hands. Too late too many times. I did find a Bitty Baby last year for $3.00.

You've gotta love getting a good deal! I have Oneida silverware in the Julliard pattern. I'd love to get more serving spoons, etc. . .I think I paid around $300 for a set of 12 and that was on sale, with coupon codes, etc... At the time, I thought I was getting a good deal. I think the cost for one 5 piece place setting was around $50.

Yup, I checked the website, msrp for me was $75, on sale it's $50. I'm going to have to head to the outlet. It's just too expensive to buy the serving pieces online.
