Talking What My Neighbors Left Behind........

My neighbors built a new house and moved out last week. This is just some of the stuff they left beside the road for the trash man. I'd say I made quite a valuable haul. Lots of things I can use myself and some I can sell on ebay or a garage sale and make a few dollars! I can't believe how wasteful some people are. Guess they wanted everything NEW! This is just from the stuff laying beside the trash cans. I didn't go through the trash cans since they had household trash in there too but saw a bag full of about 20 childrens games in boxes! Why didn't they donate those? I just can't believe some people!

2 plastic book cases/3 shelf or stack

3 quart sized bags of sea shells for crafts
    1 sea urchent pomador
1 crystal angel with tea candle holder

1 bag of Whitney Planting Soil
1 His & Her Digital Alarm Clock
    1 21" Color TV
1 new plastic lace look shower curtain

    1 smaller canvas bag
1 vintage Universal Food & Meat Chopper still in box
3 3-Way light switches (dh says they are $10.00 a piece)
    1 new wire brush
1 roll of duct tape and 1 roll of black pipe tape
1 new in package paint pan, brush and roller
1 20 drawer plastic bin full of screws, nails, washer, etc.

    Holy Moly!

What a haul! I too cannot believe that they didn't just donate the games and kids stuff. I also can't imagine someone having SO MUCH STUFF that they can just throw all that away without a thought.

Wonderful for you, though! Enjoy Happy New Year!

WOW! They should have at least donated those items to a thirft store, goodwill or salvation army. They could've benefited more than the landfills.

Enjoy your "new" finds. I can't wait to hear how much you made off ebay.

Oh yeah! I forgot about the 3 drawer plastic bin cabinet that is currently being used for ds's socks and underwear untill I get his dresser moved back into his room this week. Then I will use the cabinet for craft stuff.

I also forgot about the Berkley fly fishing rod and reel and a small hunter green laundry basket that fits much better in my laundry room than my round one did (my round one is atleast 18 years old, lol.

And a beautiful copper tree limb wall hanging that's about 4 foot long and about 3 foot across. It's lovely and can be used outside on the house for decoration or inside.

There is probably more, lol, but I've been trying to store it away and keep it out of the house so my house doesn't get cluttered, lol.

I would say you hit the mother lode. I must say that if it had been me I would have doned rubber gloves and gone through the trash cans. Lucky you. Thanks for sharing. I always like to hear about these kind of stories.

Good for you Carolyn! That was like Christmas as a kid, wasn't it? Sounds like lots of useful stuff there and you should be able to make a few cents off of the rest.

    Wow!!!

I can;t believe how wasteful they were. I'm glad you rescued all that stuff from the trash heap. Shame on them, and I hope you get some real value (money or use) out of those things, too. I bet they wouldn't just throw cash away, so why throw donateavle or saleable items away???
