Default I spent $22 at the bag sales!

I got 3 full bags, and some overflow items. Plus a sewing machine cabinet!

    Here's the haul:

small, beat-up, wooden sewing machine cabinet ... $5

    The other $17:

    for me
Eddie Bauer black cord dress (bulky)
    silky black blouse
    black slacks
    'bechamel' brand knit pants
    no-name olive cotton skirt
    no-name denim skirt
Nordstrom bathrobe -- xxl in terry velour (bulky)
    Emma James black wool sweater

    for everyone else
    Talbot's cardigan for DD
    Old Navy shirt for DD
2 Lands' End and 1 LL Bean shirts for DH (I'll just wash them and hang them in his closet)
    chili pepper decorations for DH
    ceramic box -- gift closet
2 Christmas stockings -- gift closet?
2 wool sweaters and a motheaten shawl for felting
    3 children's books
3 notebooks -- one artist paper; 1 graph paper; and one teddy bear pattern
2 satchels for carrying books/music lesson supplies
    small woven purse for DD
    camera bag for DH

    Quite a haul, eh?

I'm always thrilled when I get the items for less than the original owners paid in TAX!

So far, though, a few things aren't fitting. (The sweatpants and DD's sweater.) I'll just donate them back.

except ... that sweater has the PRETTIEST buttons. I'm thinking of cannabalizing them.

You did great! I agree with taking the buttons. Sometimes I buy a shirt just for the buttons. I finally found just the right buttons for a beautifull white appliqued sweater I had and I got them off a shirt at the thrift store.
