Yard Sale Report....Day 1....Long
Unbelievable!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
After subtracting my start up money and the cost of the newspaper ad, I made $351.00!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The people started coming at 7:45 and it didn't stop or slow down untill 11:45 when I suddenly got a 20 min break and then they started coming more slowly after that. I made $245.00 before noon! That's a big chunk of money that will go for my co-pay for my surgery! Yippeee!
It was supposed to rain Saturday night but instead..........it rained tonight. I hope we dont get anymore. As it is now, we only got sprinkles at my house but the south and east of town got a downpour. The wind has been pretty bad and I heard a few things breaking and falling over but I'm just not going to worry about it. I cannot believe how many things I got rid of. I only sold a couple of items for $20.00 and the rest was all $1.00 and up to $5.00 but mostly I sold stuff for $1.00 just to get rid of them.
I started selling books for .50 cents each but they weren't going fast enough and I had 15 boxes full so I dropped my price to .25 cents each and sold quite a few. I have to keep in mind that my goal is to get rid of stuff and make a little money, not make a lot of money and be stuck with a bunch of stuff that didn't sell.
I still have ooodles and gobs of stuff to sell tomorrow and a few things I held back so I would have "good" stuff for Saturday too. Lots of people said they were coming back tomorrow. A couple of people even came by 2 times today!
Now for my condition. I'm doing ok. Tummy was way swollen last night and I'm pretty stiff after I sit for 5 minutes but I'll be ok. That's what Aleve is for right? LOL Last night I got a splinter in my finger and it got infected today before I could get it out then I today I cut my finger on a broken glass and then I broke a fingernail down to the quick. I also forgot to wear my sun hat and even though it was only 57 degrees today, I sunburned my face. Ugh! I'll be wearing my hat and gloves tomorrow for sure.
Last night after I came in the house after working outside untill 8:00, I gathered up all of the cards that I've gotten for the last 5 days and finally got to open them and read them. You all have been so sweet to me and I wanted to tell you again how much I appreciate your cards. I just couldn't do it all physically or mentally without all of you cheering my on.
I hope and pray tomorrow is a another great day of yard saleing.
