    Lightbulb my sons finds

Today my oldest came home (13 yr old0 and had 3 binders like brand new. he ytold me they were chucked in the garbage by other kids, cleaning out their lockers. So he asked the janitor if he could have them, he said yes!!! he was so excited,, he came home and said he was going back behing the school at their garbage site to get more stuff thrown out. Well i told him he should ask, because it is after school , and they coukld say he was stealing. So he went and sure enough the Principal came out and aske3d him waht he was doing. He told him, laughed and said are u a garbage picker. My boy spoke up and said yep, proud of it, when u allow kids to throw out brand new things like the parents are made of money and sorry to say everyone thinks thsi is normal. dear Lord!!!" Well I was in shock!!!!
Proud that i brought him up tha waste was bad but told him to be careful, its his principal not akid he was talking too. Anyways the principal said he could have the rest of what he found and not do it again. he came homw with 6 more binders, all differnt thicknesses ans sizes (the $20 dollar ones and above) and 2 rulers and a dictionary!!!
So he's keeping them, he wont need anymore for years to come, !!!

If I were the principal I'd help him get the stuff out safely and give him kudos for being so resourceful and respectful of the money spent. Then I'd starta box for 'good, used' throw out stuff so that people wouldn't have to go through the garbage to get it.

Thsi school doesnt seem to care, most schools don't her on the island!!! the teachers whine that there isnt enough money every year for supplies they need, but they also want parents to help out and give and donate and fundraise!!! Ohhhhh, but instead of getting the students to give their supplies they dont want ina box, some student would get what he may need the following year!!! My parents were janitors, and the waste they seen in Elementary was enough to scare you!!! All things that werent picked up were given away to shelters and thrift shops. Sometimes my mom would ask the principal if she could take it home to her grandkids. at the last of it, she said no!!!wasnt allowed anymore. My kids dont go that svhool, and I didint tell them where itwas from, i didint see the problem.
I think i should talk to the principla so that next year in his school their woudnt be as much waste. I know the boysn girls club would use it!!!

What ever hapened to the three R's reduce, reuse, recycle!!!!! What is that school teaching !!! That is such waste and so unenvironmental!!!! I think I would organize a field trip to where ever your garbage ends up next year and to the recycling center.... This shouldn't just be a frugal issue....it is EVERYONES issue...

Here...at every opportunity we recycle, tetra packs, bottles etc...it should be part of everyones psychy....

Kudos to yo for raising your son right! At least he won't be a wonton wasteful consumer.....
