Garage sale report, weekend of July 7th, 8th and 9th
I hope to go to a few more tomorrow but I hit one this evening and got some goodies. Since we just bought a boat, we need all the life jackets and oars, etc....for it. I was talking to a friend and told her that I needed some and she said "Oh we're having a garage sale in a couple of weeks and have it set up in an empty building, there are some life jackets in there!". So we went, had a look and bought 3 good ones for $3 total. Gripey had told me to be on the lookout for some more weights since he needs some more. He had been pricing them at Wally World and they were about $8.96 ea. . I got him 6 and a weight bar for $3
He was thrilled, just what he wanted.
I also got an old picture of the last supper for my antique froo-froo bedroom ($2), a little, avon pitcher and bowl (.25), a large crockpot ($1.50), a water noodle (.25) to use in our pool. Ssssoooo I had a lot of fun for $10. Gee I just love garage sales.......!
Anyone else score this weekend?

Well, I had a yard sale and made around $80. Not too bad but not necessarily what I had hoped for after putting all that work and effort into it. I took what didn't sell to Goodwill that way it didn't become clutter once again in my house. I did keep two boxes of name-brand clothing that I'm gonna take to the consignment shop in hopes of earning some extra $$$.

I took some things over to a friend's garage sale and sold $117 worth of stuff. I would have loved to have sold more. I plan on having a sale at my house at the end of the month after I clean out the attic. Today, I picked up a very good used high chair for $20, so I didn't think that was too bad.

I found a few more things on my 2nd day.
I got a huge, very nice stained glass hanging lamp (had a broken metal top on it but I knew my ddad could make it work
) for mom and dad's dining room area, $3. They are thrilled with it and dad has it all ready to hang but is missing one small part for the brace, plus we have to paint where the old lamp was before we hang this one tomorrow.
For $7 a nice set of sunflower canisters (mom had just asked me to watch for some the night before) for their new house.
A really cute set of sunflower pics for her kitchen $3.
A new porch light for our back porch (really big, nice, verdi gris finish) $2.
New purse for me (not sure if it is but looks like Brighton) $1.
The cutest small lamp, hard to describe but the shade looks like a lilly (pink at the bottom, frosted on the top) with a brass hummingbird stand. Sssooo cute, $1.
7 life jackets, $1 each.
I had a great time this weekend searching out my bargains.
*edited to add*
I forgot about a really old, small fan for my bathroom, $1
and a really pretty little tray, tole painted with roses for my bathroom as well. I sat my clock, a little heart shaped plate with roses on it and small plant and really cute planter that I've had for ages with a small, silk green plant in it.

Great deals everyone.
I haven't been to garage sales or even the thrift store in a while. Trying to conserve funds and pare down because we're trying to do some DIY home improvements and have the expense of Miranda's baptismal. Love reading everyone's steals though.

Went to town wide sales this weekend. They really didn't have much I was looking for.
I did get to deep dish Pyrex pie pans for $1.00 each (2)
A bread machine for $10.00 ( don't think it was ever used )
Then saw one exactly the same for $5.00 (wish I'd picked that one up to )
An excersise tape for $.25
( Still looking for a dehydrator to make jerky with so I don't have to use my oven , and an ice cream maker )
Wish I'd had $35.00 for a kitchenmaid mixer ( that go $269.00 in the stores )
