Everyone I know has a local goodwill store and we all go to buy the pair of jeans or pair of shoes (we normally dont buy). and we look and then we find what we might think is it we all know what that feeling is we call home hey look this up on ebay and the voice comes back oh Mom the most would be $20.00 and we say OH MAN as we stand there and ponder is this worth the price????? I have been there and I hate this. But someday I will find my painting it might not be the painting in the goodwill store but it might be the when I don't owe no one anything It is just how you look at things.Today was a great day but I know it will get better.

The only paintings that I ever seem to find at our Goodwill or other thrift stores are velvet Elvis paintings or the dogs playing poker type pictures .

I found a small "famous" painting (at least famous for our area) at Goodwill
for .99 cents! Its a signed oil painting of a seascape done in pinks and grays
of an artist that signed it Wonsmos. I recognized it immediately and casually
put it in my basket and just nonchalantly kept shopping but inside I was jumping up and down! When I was a teenager (many moons ago!) I worked in a restaurant that my boss collected and hung big paintings by this artist.
I don't know what it would be worth but its worth a lot to me since I relate
to the history of this. I looked the artist up on google one time but I can't remember a lot about her.

Looked her up on google again and her name was Minnie Wonsmos and
the reason I remembered her as "famous" is that she was a local artist
in our area known for her beautiful seascapes. So I guess it really would
not be as valuable as I thought it was but I still love it! Google said she
    painted in the '50s.

Neat having the history behind your painting Fritzie. I love that feeling of a really neat find and that giddy feeling you felt when you found yours. Still have it? I'd love to see a pic if you have a digital camera.

I do still have it. Its on the wall right by my computer but I'm so techno challenged I don't know how to do pictures. I just have a regular camera
not a digital. The painting is small, just 17" by 9" with the frame but the
colors goes with our rose pink office. My mom also has a large painting
that is done in turquoise blues and grays. We live in a coastal town in the
Pacific NW and so the seascapes are especially special to us.
