Default When yard or garage saling...

When yard or garage saling do you carefully look at each item to determine if you should purchase it... or do you quickly scan the sale grabbing what catches your eye and then go back through and look more intently?

How do you approach a garage or yard sale?

Quickly scan, especially if DH is with me. He rushes me unless there are tools there, then we never leave. I have in mind what I'm looking for, so I scan quickly, then walk around a second time.

I quickly scan and pick up anything I think I want, then I slowly look everything over again before buying.

When I go with my sister, she usually takes longer so I have to just hang out and look, I am amazed at what great things I find when I HAVE to wait and look around...makes me wonder what I miss when I'm alone! LOL

I have certain items I look for. If those items aren't there after a quick scan, I take my time and just browse. Usually find something fun anyway.

If I see kid's clothes I head there first and search the piles for dd. I found the cutest little OshKosh outfit for .20 a couple of weeks ago. I kind of browse around leisurely, unless I see a box of free stuff!

I usually cruise by the sale and if it looks like stuff I might like, I stop. I usually look all around the sale and pick stuff up as I go. I will usually ask the owner if I can stack my stuff up next to him/her if I am buying a lot of items. Otherwise, I just carry it with me. I do a pretty good job looking through everything. A lot depends on how many sales there are. If there are many yard sales, I move a lot faster. I've found some of my best buys under the tables or it boxes that have stuff stacked in them.
