Default Half price day at thrift store

Yesterday I read on a local chat board that the thrift store in my area was having their quarterly half off sale. That is half off anything in the store! I had several boxes of books and household items from decluttering to donate so I decided to stop in.

    I got:
NEW in the package futon cover that matches my sewing room perfectly. Tag price 39.99/ thrift store price 7.99/ half off 4.00!!! SCORE!!!!

    Also picked up the following
Leap frog phonic toy like new with batteries still in it!
    Cinderella book
2 new in package picnic tent food covers
2 new with tags shirts for DGD
new in package thank you notes suitable for DGD birthday thank yous
    2 full size flat sheets

    Total spent 12.00

then on the way home I actually resisted stopping at 3 yard sales.....After all, I AM trying to declutter right????

    Great!

My Goodwill was having a 50% off sale too. I got a pretty new-looking toaster oven for $6! Good timing too, because my roommate has moved out and her toaster moved out with her.

Value village often has 50% off a certain color tag. At least 90% of the times I have been in there they have had this sale and I have put it to good use.

My local thrift store has their "Power Hour" every Monday from 1-2 and 5-6. They ring up everything aside from furniture at half off. I have found really great things there! I check the clothes in my youngest daughter's size and usually find something perfect for church or school outings.

I love hearing about everyone's deals! I happened to stop in at Once Upon A Child today and found they were having a 5 for $5 clearance sale. Found 10 items for my daughter for $10! That's better than any tag sale around here.
