Simple black skirt
I needed a simple black skirt for a wardrobe basic.
First, I looked on Lands' End. Nice, but more expensive than I wanted.
Then I thought of sewing one ... but I didn't have the materials on hand.
Today I stopped by the thrift store.
I found ....
- a simple black skirt. Lined. AND it fits. AND it's machine washable!
- A long-sleeve white blouse.
- A mancala game.
- An architecture book for DD.
- A set of curtains that match a pillowcase that DD sewed for her room.
And I only spent around $8 for all.

That is wonderful. I enjoy playing mancala. We haven't played in a while. I'll have to pull that one out.

Good for you! Some of my best clothes have come from thrift stores - including a Pendleton wool suit with the tags still on and various formal dresses back in the days when I had reasons to need them.

Sounds like the trip I made a couple of years ago. I couldn't find a Christmas dress for my daughter anywhere (I wasn't paying $85!). I went to Goodwill and within 5 minutes found a dress for my daughter and a dress for me for a total of $9.
