    Talking Thrift store deals

Yesterday went to local church thrift store which is open once a week. with DD. Spent a whopping $2.50, less than price of gallon of gas. Most stuff at the store is only 25 cents:

*3 ladies handkerchiefs (part of effort to use less paper products & tissues)
*pair flannel pj's as cooler weather is a'comin
*like-new curling iron, the handle on mine broke recently
*Samsonsite camera case which I needed as had no case to keep & protect my digital camera and accessories.
*Tupperware-like shaker & lid to make my breakfast shakes so I can drink them in the car on the commute
*new water bottle for when I am on the road
    *White hanes tank top

Then 2 days ago I went to a Goodwill in one of the more upscale towns, always has good stuff. Got a denim Lilly Pulitzer skirt in perfect shape with embroidered lobsters for $9 and then a Liz Clairborne wool check skirt also for $9. The Lilly Pulitzer skirt goes for around $50 on ebay or is over $100 new!

Great buys. I like church thrift stores and my local hospital has one also. I like the hospital one becuase the prices are awsome plus its a great way to help the community. When they have a sale like half off its for the entire store not just selected items.

Great deals! My best deals are on work clothes- those blouses that usually cost 25.00 or more from NY&CO or Express for 2.50 each, simple black skirts and trousers for 5.00 each, etc.

I also got cheap vintage bedsheets- sometimes for less than .50 each- and hung them on my wall for retro 'art' that really makes my apartment look really great.
