Question What wouldn't you buy used?

I love to buy used stuff...but, there are just certain things I won't buy used.

Mattresses and underwear are definitely two things I won't buy used.

What about you? What won't you buy used under any circumstances?

    Underwear, definitely.

I'd buy a used mattress. When my husband and I got a new mattress, I tried to convince him to go used (the store sold mattresses that were returned to them under their 60 satisfaction guarantee at a good discount and he wouldn't go for it).

I can't say I would never buy used shoes, but every time I see a pair for sale, I visualize really hideous feet wearing them and I can't bring myself to consider them. I'm not sure if that's a mental block I'll ever get past

    Bra's and socks.
Don't think I could wear these.

I won't buy underwear or socks used. I hate paying $10 for bras, but the idea of wearing some other woman's bra creeps me out. I won't buy any furniture that I cannot clean. I'll buy wooden or leather/vinyl, but not cloth covered furniture as I don't feel I can clean them well enough. I don't buy pots or pans as I don't know how old they are, if they are made of safe materials, if they've been burned, etc. I also don't buy many dishes or glasses because I worry about lead paint. I do have an addiction to mugs and buy tons of them. I look at the brand and the copyright so I know I'm getting a newer mug. I buy almost all my clothes and shoes used. Also books, knick knacks, toys, picture frames, wall art, etc.

    Underwear
toothbrushes ( even if they were at a yard sale and looked new... packaging would have to be mint and technically that would be new)
Hair brushes ( can we say Ewwwwww )
    Toliet brushes

Underware, socks, matresses, personal care items... can't think of anything else right now. I think everyone has their own level of squeemishness.

would not buy used clothing, bed linens, towels or any type of fabric that is cloth or has fabric on it unless its a chair or something and the fabric can be replaced.
Also any wood that is not solid because you can infest your house with silverfish and termites.
Good things to buy used are solid wooden furniture like dining room sets, also some cookware...
and dishes/ glasses/ cups... as long as they are washed before use with bleach and water.

I've found that if you watch for sales you can often get new for the price of used.

Underwear, socks, bathing suits actually. Hair brushes, tooth brushes, anything cosmetic, curling iron, mattresses, anything like toothpaste, shampoo, body wash, etc. helmets. Nothing else really jumps out at me.

Yep no used underware or mattresses for me either. I guess I am pretty open to most other stuff.
