    Default secondhand shopping flops?

Have you ever bought anything secondhand that was a bad buy? Or didn't work out? What was it and what was wrong with it?

I went thrift store shopping and bought a watch. It was brand new in the box, but an older watch. It didn't work and I forgot to check it to see if it did. I assumed because it was brand new in the box, that it worked. I felt pretty dumb.

In the past, I've also bought things that had small chips. grrr

How about you? What secondhand purchases gave you buyer's remorse?
What's your little checklist of things you check for? ie. broken zippers, missing buttons, etc.

I bought a pair of red pants that I thought were going to look great on me but they had a broken zipper and that was before I knew how to sew.

I bought a pair of capris a couple of years ago that seemed nice. I came home and washed them, then wore them a few days later. Well, after a short time I noticed a slight odor... then after a bit it was definitely BO, coming from the waistband of the pants. :surprise: Eeeeewwwww. I bleached them and wore them again, same results. Yuck!!! They had to go!

I've bought 3 pair of jeans that didn't fit 'quite right' when I got em home. The other day I bought some really, very cute denimn capris (a lady in the thrift store said, those are too big for you, but I held em up and thought, nah they'll fit) that were too big :S
