Default Denim Wedding Dress? Cheaper to buy??

    http://satnspurs.com/product_info.ph...roducts_id=410

That's the dress I'm seriously considering. It's more than I had wanted to spend on a wedding dress but I want something that will fit in with a "redneck" wedding and not be the usual white wedding dress.
Think it would be cheaper to have it made? any ideas? anything you'd change about it if I have it made?

The price is a fantastic steal!
    really!
wedding dresses are in the thousands!

this is a lot of denim. and a lot of detail

I sew- and can very easilly whip it together. But for THAT prices! I would buy it. You can't beat the price.

The denim alone would be about 20 yards at $6/yd = $80.

The detail on the dress is where the cost will come in.
I can't quite figure it out... is it bias tape? embroidery?
Either way, if you had it made for you... the cost will be well over the $450.

If you think you can do the detail (or some semblence of it) you'll be okay.

    Splurge.

You can then take the dress (it appears to be a two piece) and make a shorter style when your done.

Oh, I agree with Frugal Nurse!

The COST of the dress would be the trim if you tried to make it. I can't figure out what the trim is either but if it included beads and sequins over tape or embroidery, the cost would be far more than the price advertised.

The dress itself is beautiful. You will be so pretty if you choose it.

If you wanted to go really redneck with it you could get the $1 a yard fabric at Wal-Mart. Then either do machine embroydery on it or some hand beading. You can get the iron on lacey things wholesale at http://www.laceheaven.com

I agree with the others, that is a great price. It would probably run a lot more if you tried to get some one to make you one.

Sure wish I still had the denim wedding dress I sold on ebay a couple years ago! I actually sold it as a Redneck Wedding Dress. I bought it at an Auction for $10.

It is a very pretty dress at a very good price for a wedding dress with that much detail. If I were you I'd jump on it!

Very nice dress.......... the price is great. Since there is a lot of bead work having it made would cost more.

Thanks very much for all the opinions! I will probably go ahead and just buy it, more than I wanted to spend but I sure can't walk into a bridal shop and find it.
    Thanks.
