Talking For those who browse pattern books, but have problems spending hours at the store

I love that there are now online versions of the big pattern books.

This was one of my major discoveries last year and I love it. I can browse the new stuff to my hearts content, without any distraction in the comfort of my home.

I thought I'd share the links so the other pattern book aficionados can browse with me.

Pull up a virtual chair, we are side by side, humming happy fabric tunes, flipping virtual pages, down at the country store!

I'm looking at the larger size patterns, but I cast an eye over the cute baby patterns, and the crafts/home dec. The lingerie looks fun!

I sneak a peek at the newer skinny stuff in dresses and remember the day when I was thin enough and flat enough to wear sundresses and strapless evening wear. HMMM that was a while back!

Here is the Kwik Sew book: http://www.kwiksew.com/

Do you like Stretch and Sew? I'll pass it over to you right here: http://www.stretch-and-sew.com/

I'm done with the Butterick catalog: http://www.butterick.com/

Want a peek at McCalls?: http://www.mccallpattern.com/

Need Simplicity? Here I'll pass it over: http://www.simplicity.com/index.cfm

Ahhh it was Vogue you wanted, here you go: http://store.sewingtoday.com/cgi-bin...terns/shop.cgi

    Have fun ladies!

OMG Dozy - just what I need more sites to look at. Love ya for doing this. I have to agree with you on the fun this is.

I have looked at the Simplicity site before but now it will even be better to look at the other websites also.

Thanks for sharing them. Heh, which book are you looking at right now, I'll go and look at it with you. I'll bring my cup of tea and we can have a chit chat looking at those patterns.

Dozymom- thanks for sharing this!!! At my local Joann fabrics, the table where the pattern books are is always so crowded- this is a perfect alternative!! I can have my numbers all ready for when they go on sale for .99.

One day I was at Joann's to buy the patterns on sale for .99. Well, some of the patterns that I wanted were all gone. So I took the sale flyer over to Walmart and picked out the patterns. When I went through the checkout the lady had to get a manager to okay the sale price. The look on their faces were priceless but the manager did sell them to me for .99. They won't honor the % off sales but they did the .99 patterns.

This is just what I do when they're on sale. I make a list before I get there, and then I don't need to fight to look at the books

Walmart price matches? hmmmm that's an idea. If it works in Canada too.

The pattern I was thinking of was 3081. It looks fast and simple, and actually I will most likely use another Kwik Sew sweatshirt pattern and just increase that lenght, and flare out the sides to make it into a nightie that will look like 3081 but use what I already have.

It should be nice in the polar fleece.

Kindred it's in the ladies wear, under sleepwear, and it's 3081 and it looks like a super fast polar fleece inspired pattern with fast serger option.

    Thank you so much!

Gosh, I just had one of those...gee, why didn't I think of that moments! .

What clever ideas...and so much more fun than standing in line holding other people up!

dozymom....I wonder if walmart does do the price matching here in Canada. I am going to ask next time I go.

ymay, I don't know if they do match or not, just saw your reply here when updating. I've had my head into decorating, not sewing lately but after I get this project done, I plan to give my machine a real workout!
