Default Does anyone remember those shirt dresses?

They were incredibly simple to make. You took a shirt, any shirt that had a bit of give, like a t-shirt and sewed a sheet around it to make a dress. It was so easy it could be sewn by hand. I lost the directions and it was so long ago that I can't quite remember how to do it.

    Thanks,
    Polly

I thought they would make good maternity dresses, too....use an empire waist and add a tie to the back.....

My sister made me one while I was in high school. I wish I still had it (ok, and could fit in it, too). She used a thermal long sleeve shirt and matched it with a totally cute (subtle) light blue print. I loved it!

I made one a lot like this last night! I'm glad to see actual instructions on how to do it from regular fabric, though. (I started with the skirt hacked off an old dress and attached to a ready-made t-shirt.)
I want to make me one, now...

I remember these, I've taken several tshirts and combined them into a multi colored dress for working around the house. I love her color combinations. Thanks!
