    Post need ideas! fleece

Okay so i've got 2 yards (diff patterns) of sports fleece (think: sports team logos).

I need ideas of what to make... could be anything, big or small, using part, whole, or some of each of the fabrics.

Also any tips you have for sewing fleece are welcome too.

    thanks!!

Are they of teams that anyone likes?
    Are they of opposing teams?
Or is it just a generic sports theme?

    good point! *duh*

it's a print that Dh actually picked out almost a year ago... it's his fave team.

so the gift(s ) would be for him.

initially i was thinking a pillow... but i made one last year (that got torn up (my fault) i could re-use that tho as an option). but that sounds kinda boring.
and i dont think i could re-wrap the same pillow w/a different cover. isn't that cheating? lol

Hnm, well I was going to suggest a pillow, LOL. I made my sons 'tv pillows' with their favorite sports on them. They use them all the time so I guess they like them.

How about a hat for him to wear on game day?

I made my brother one. LOL! He swears that when he wears it, they win! You know how men can get about their teams!

But I cut the logo out, plus some. Then I sewed it up kinda like a cone, and then added some fringe to the top. Kinda like a jester's cap.
I also took some of the material and made him a football with it. That way he has something soft to throw when he gets frustrated, or can bounce off the wall/floor when they score.

    what about a robe?

can i make a robe outta fleece??

i'm sure i'd need more fabric - not sure how much more.

i'm thinking a lounging robe... not bath robe.

    is fleece hot?
i dont own anything fleece, so i dont know.

    yes fleece can get hot.
a robe would be fine. you would need about 4 yards of material to make one that is about knee/mid calf length.

You could make your DH a scarf out of it.

Is there enough to make the no-sew tie blankets? They are great to snuggle up with while watching a movie AND great to set on cold bleacher seats.

I was thinking the same thing. Or how about a pullover hoodie? I have fleece that I'm going to use to make one for Lauren.

Hat & scarf set is a good idea too.

I vote for a vest. I don't think it would be to hot for him. And some fleece socks. I love fleece its sooo warm, & comfy. I'm sure anything you make for him will make him feel very special. Let us know what you decide.

i like the hat, scarf & football ideas.

we have so many blankets as it is, i'd hate to add another one... tho the idea of no-sew is intriguing... i'll check it out.

i'm thinking the robe idea might be out. anything hot doesnt usually get worn. dh is always a warm person. lol

My kids seem to fight over fleece TV blankets LOL!

My little one had a reversible fleece jacket.
She only wore it at home but she loved that thing.

Fleece is such a kid friendly fabric

well 2 yards isnt enough to do much with.... and i'd hate to have a bunch left over... since the 2 pieces of fabric are opposite in colours (ie, sports team, 2 colours, background of one is one colour and the other the opposite colour)...
i could still do a blanket... but not sure how i could put it together... maybe in 1 foot squares???
