flannel lined pants question
I dont really sew that well. I can fix a button and sew a tear but that 's about it. That being said I was wondering how hard do you think it would be to sew flannel in a pair of jeans kind of like this http://www.cabelas.com/ssubcat-1/cat601784.shtml Or do you think I would be better off just trying to find them on sale. TIA!

Get a pair of flannel pants and a pair of jeans.
Turn the jeans inside out and put them on. Pull the flannel pants over the jeans. pin in place then sew together.

~Ahmom, that similar to what I was gonna suggest. I was gonna suggest attaching velcro to the bottoms so that the jeans and flannel pants could have double lives. Jeans are pretty difficult and expensive to make. I'm an experienced sewer and I still haven't attempted them.~

I revisit this question every few years, and so far have always decided that I can simply put on a pair of flannel pajama bottoms and then put on jeans over them and make sure the bottoms are not sticking out. This gives me the flexibility of using either garment individually or using them together for colder days, and it doesn't really take long to put on the extra layer - like a fraction of a second. If I WERE going to attempt to sew them together, I think I would simply do so at the waist and placket (assuming the jeans are not pull-on) and leave the bottoms unattached since the fabrics might shrink and warp differently over time and several washings.

Try a farm store. They sell them pretty reasonable.
