    Smile Cut offs anyone????

My 8 year old son was going to throw away a pair of uniform pants he has that have holes in the knees, I QUICKLY stopped him and said "oh no you don't, I will cut them off and hem them so you can wear them when you are able to wear shorts to school". Take care and God bless.

When Dh started his job last spring, they only provide you with 5 uniforms a year. So, becuase it was cold when he started, they gave him all pants. Well, when summer rolled around, he was dying becuase he wasn't allowed to wear shorts that weren't company issued.

So I took 2 pair of the pants, and measured them (didn't want him running around in Daisy Dukes...think the guy from Reno 911 ) and cut and hemmed them.

He wore them to work, his boss said that was fine, they were company issued, so he could wear them.

He came home from work 3 days later, with about 6 pairs of pants from other guys to be hemmed. I thought that was pretty funny! I had to guess at how long to make them, but I must have done ok, becuase no one complained and DH said they all wore them and were really thankful! I'm guessing most of them were bachelors!

At this point, my kids are outgrowing the pants waistwise, about as fast as they wear out the knees, so I haven't had the chance to hem anything for them to make them last. They just grow way too fast!

Momto2boyz - Next time CHARGE those bachelors for your sewing services!

I wear jeans for work and when they're trashed, I just cut them off and roll them up, for shorts. I don't sew.

That's what I was going to say. You could charge them $5 a pair.

I've always loved making cutoffs. Why toss them when you could get more use out of them, right?
