Hand Held Sewing Machine?
Does anyone own one of those hand held sewing machines they have ads for on TV? I would like to have one to use when I don't feel like hauling out my big machine and I thought it would be fun to use when we are traveling in our trailer. Are they any good and if so, what is the best price you have seen on them?

Thanks Lori, I can use the help. I keep finding the small sewing machine. You know, it looks just like a regular sewing machine and that isn't what I am looking for. If I find one, I'll post where and how much. Thanks again, Kathi

Is this it?
KathiS,
I think it is called a Handy Stitch. I saw it on the front cover of Carol Wright Gifts catalog. Here is the website:http://www.carolwrightgifts.com/inde...4565&category=

I have been curious about that as well. I saw them at BJ's Warehouse Club for $8.99. (I don't even have a sewing maching yet so this would be a step up for me. LOL!)

I have one of those. Not sure if it's the same brand but same design. It is still in the package. I'll see if it works. About time huh? LOL

How in the world do you girls live without a sewing machine?
Sorry but to me a sewing machine is not a luxury, it is a necessity.
I tried to use my StitchMate Hand Held Sewing Machine by Remington tonight. Keep in mind it is 8 + years old but it looks brand new, still in the package.
I hope these have truely improved cause I would not recommend this one at all. Hard to thread, pieces fall off and unthreads easily. I would rather hand sew than use this. I can't imagine what it could be used for.
Please let me know if the newer ones are better."Success on any major scale requires you to accept responsibity."

Thanks everyone! I looked at Walmart the other night but, I didn't see it there. So, what does everyone think? Is it worthwhile or not? It sure would be handy!

Have been using the hand held sewer I ordered. It works pretty darn good. It makes quite a lot of noise. I am so clutsy that I have a tough time holding it and feeding the material through. It does seem to do a pretty good job. I think mainly it is good for quick jobs. I am going to take it when I go camping. I think it will be great for crafting in our trailer. I will need to practice with it though.
