Smile Outgrown jeans +outgorwn dress = birthday present

Daughter had outgrown her favorite jeans. They have a embroidered dog on the back pocket and and embroidered bone on the front pocket. They were still in good shape.

She also outgrow a favorite knit dress ( wore it for 3 years) still in good shape.

She didn't want to let them go so she asked months ago if I could make something out of them.

I just did I made her a purse. It will be her birthday present
    Total cost of present $0

I might make some hair scrunchies or head band covers also with the leftover scraps. Maybe a doll skirt too.

    I so wish I could. I don't know how.

I still take my camera to the photo place and have them develop it and then send them to the in laws.

I have no idea how to even get them on the computer.

    Sorry

    I can try to describe.

You know those jean purses that have been popular?

The seat of the pant becomes the body of the purse. I use some of the leg to make the bottom oval of the purse.
The handles where the pretty seam of each leg. sewn to make a handle of course. I sewed it so the pretty part was the part facing out so it was the decoration on the handle.
The lining was the knit of the dress it was a multi thin stripe material. Browns, greens, oranges, pink. I copied the seat bottom and the bottom oval and sewed in the lining.

She will probably be running ribbons through the belt loops to change it up. ( read that as changing ribbons often good thing she has a supply of those)

We think she is going to love it.

What a great gift. And the best part is every time she looks at it it will bring back memories of thigs she was doing when she wore those things.
