Finishing up...
Decided to finish a shirt I've been sewing for a friend. I put it off because it meant figuring out the buttonholer on my new sewing machine. It's confusing. There are actually 3 different ways to do buttonholes. I could only get one to work. So that's what I used. Now all I have to do is sew on the buttons!
What are you finishing up or working on right now?Last edited by peanut; 02-14-2009 at 11:44 AM.

Doesn't it make a person feel good to get something done that's been hanging around a while? Especially when there's not much left to do.
I'm crocheting a fish-shaped soap holder. Been meaning to do that for years. I have some other stuff in the works too. Mostly what I'm doing now is sorting and organizing around the house, especially in the sewing room, so I can find my projects and get them prioritized. That all feels good, too.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Yes, it does feel good to get this one out of the way. I think spring must be here. A lot of people I know are in the cleaning mood/mode!

This one is a little different but I had been meaning to give my newspaper carrier a little something in an envelope, but continually found myself short of cash. Just last night I finally left out a thank you that I had wanted to give at Christmas. BTW I live at the end of a mile long dirt road and in the snow he made it here to deliver my paper whenever I couldn't even get out. He deserves a lot more than I was able to give him!!

Hi Peanut (and everyone),
I'm working on my sewing skills. This means I'm building up the courage to put together a very basic crazy quilt square on my sewing machine. I am trying to get up some courage and I think this just did it! I'm off to sew......Married to the love of my life on 17 May 2008

I'm finishing Lauren's quilt. Sort of. I hate dreading projects like this. It's so silly because it's close to being done, but I've already messed up once, and I don't feel like messing with it again.

mzpepper, have you considered giving gifts of food? Jar mixes are inexpensive and make nice thank-you gifts. It doesn't have to be anything elaborate to show your appreciation.

A "thank you" note is probably more than he gets from most! It is nice of you to consider him. A nice card goes a LONG way.

mzpepper...about your mailman...He's a mailman who's "going the extra mile" literally. A nice card goes a long way. These guys get so little thanks.
My BIL was a bus driver for tour buses for a long time. Every time he received a thank-you card or letter, he'd put it in a scrapbook. Now that he's passed on, it's nice to read all these letters of people who really appreciated all the effort he went to to make sure they had a good time.2012 Challenges
