Question What's everyone working on right now?

I'm taking a bit of a break to organize all my crafting stuff. But for sewing I'm finishing some Christmas linens I discovered from years back. Other than that I'm quilting, knitting and embroidering these days.

I'm on an apron kick! I've been making reversible aprons for pretty much everyone I know. It's called The Church Lady apron and is just adorable. And I just finished and mailed a flannal rag quilt for a friend who is undergoing chemo.
My next project is to finish a quilt from a block swap and friend and I did years ago.

    I'm quilting, quilting, quilting.

I'm almost finished a quilt one of our older boys wanted me to make for a couple he just met. That should be finished tomorrow or Tues.

I just sent a large box of quilts to the North and would like to get one more box sent before summer comes. Then I'd like to have a number done to start sending again in Sept.

Not exactly a project, but I finally had a successful day making bread. I wised up and used my mom's recipe, which she has been using since 1941. I don't know what the heck has been wrong with all the other recipes I've tried lately that flopped but finally I got something to turn out. Good thing, too, because all the failures were starting to give me a complex. It's not like baking bread is difficult but I couldn't seem to get anything to turn out right. I'm going to tinker with this recipe and see if I can convert it over to a wheat bread recipe.

I made one small loaf in a regular pan and a longer loaf in my Pullman pan. It was an interesting side by side comparison. The Pullman loaf had a much thinner, more tender crust. I don't think I'll be baking any more bread in open pans.

My mom's going to loan me her vintage round glass loaf pan. I'm curious if that will give the same results as the Pullman pan.

I am currently making a cushion for the window seat in my dining room. Wouldn't be SO hard if it wasn't 102" by 16.5". It actually itsn't too bad, but the foam for the inside was expensive.

I have three smocked dresses to finish. They are all small sizes, so it shouldn't take too long.

This weekend I finished a smocked jumper and a sweater jacket for my grandniece.

I'm trying to finish an apron. It was supposed to be a full apron, but I didn't like it, so now I'm reworking it into a half apron.

I'm working on a scrappy afghan that I've had laying around for years. Also, I have a swap to get ready for. I have 2 potholders and a tea towel to make. I'm going to add in a dishcloth as an extra. Then I'll get back to my jewelry for my Spring show.

I'm working on my Flip Flop Quilt. Thought I finished all the flip flop squares but after I laid it out yesterday I need 2 more rows of 6. Reread pattern was for twin size I need a queen. Back to the cutting table. Then will start with the machine which hates me. Works great for a while then starts birdnesting.

For you ladies doing aprons take a look at www.apronista.ning.com That variety is outstanding.

I'm working on an aprong for a friend's birthday. I need to have it done thursday night as her birthday is Friday! I don't mind the sewing, but I just don't like the cutting of the material part!

Well, now I feel like an idiot. I just noticed this thread is in the Sewing section, and there I was, talking about bread. Some days!

Well, it was nice to hear you got the bread to work out and added a little variety. I want to work on a rag quilt, but need to get the house ready to sell. So, I was looking here and thinking after it's sold, then I can pull the sewing machine back out and get it going.

I need to finish up the last four half-panels of the insulated winter curtains I'm making, which won't take too long. Then maybe I should forget the beadwork I was going to do for my March needlework challenge and work on the new bedroom curtains. I just can't get into beadwork lately. The old bedroom curtains are some I threw together from some we had in another house when we moved into this one and needed something right away in the midst of so many other things, and I never did like them. We've used them almost twenty years now between the two houses, so they don't owe us anything anymore. But the new ones would match the cabin decor theme we're trying to get started and also coordinate with the shower curtain that's covering the new bookcase and the new moosey wallpaper border. The current curtains don't match anything AT ALL. Yeah, maybe I'll do that. The new ones are going to be simple so should go quick.

Hmmm, now that I think about curtains, I need to make some for the new back porch, too.
