FF - forgot multi layering them!! This is scary - I can remember the different crinolines I had - the thin one, the very poofy one, the 'horsehair' one - where are those memories coming from?

I actually had to make crinolines for some performance in recent years - for the High School's Hawaiiana Club - good thing I am so aged as to remember the what and how of them all!! Never underestimate the power of aging!!

LOL! I see I struck a memory lane chord with you all. We used to wear a slip under the crinoline so it wasn't so scratchy. Course, we rarely wore crinolines unless it was under a dress for church, a wedding, or a special occasion of some sort.

I am not doing any sewing other than the kimono quilt...sad to say. Hopefully I'll be able to put away quilting for awhile in the not too distant future, and work on some other things.

Have done very little sewing this week as it has been tolerable temps. for yard work. Might get something done tomorrow as it is supposed to be a hot one......but the kids need a haircut and bath...sooo...

stand out slips...... my mother would dip them in starch to make them stand out. Then the crunchy sounds when you sat down. Oh what we women do for beauty....why don't we take a lesson from nature.....where it's the male's job to be pretty?

Wow, long time no one has posted. Anyone out there??????

Is everyone doing quilting or what?

It has been too nice here to sew. I have been working outside or doing things in the kitchen.

I've been too caught up in school, soccer, paperwork. Have felt a great success to get clean clothes for us to wear!!

Only one more week until fall break - am swamped with paperwork for school and then work on my two classes. Really want to do some sewing, quilting, reading, etc done on break but am finding my days are filling up - must make sure I have some down time too!!

Think I will start adding some crafting time on the pyramid challenge - seem to be able to get a lot done on those lists!!

I figure this thread and the quilting thread will go bonkers about the end of Oct. with everyone doing Xmas sewing.

We haven't heard from FFTLord, or some of the others in a long time either........nobody is sewing I guess.

Lots of nice fall weather that everyone is enjoying......before the white stuff falls!!!

I'm sewing up the 12 apple pillows for my students so they can stuff them on Monday!! ran into a friend at our workshop on Thursday - said she had her students fill the pumpkin bean bags I made for them years ago - every year!! She and her staff must have the students stuff them, then the adults sew them up - then the next year, they dump out the beans and do it all over again!! How cute is that!! I'd be more than happy to make her new ones every year as I do for my students!!

Need to make some Halloween gift bags too.

It's rainy outside, after I get the bread shaped, I'm spending the day in the sewing room. Working on using up the small stash I have. Goal is to make one Christmas gift and maybe a tote for me. Finally I'm in the mood to sew!
