    ~Thanks for the compliments, ladies!
Today I'm working on feminine articles. Many of the articles in my stash are almost two years old. Plus, I made some of them out of cotton blend t-shirts which I've since learned are good for nothing but rugs.
So from now on, all my feminine articles will be made with 100% cotton flannel. The few I have that are flannel resist staining, are very light and non-bulky and dry quickly. It really is the best material to use!
I'm cutting up a pair of pick flannel pj's for the ones I'm making today. I'm hoping to get about 30 out of them.~

~3 inches wide for lightweight fabrics, 1.5 inches wide for heavier fabrics. Woven wool is what's usually used. I think medium weight denim would probably work since woven wool fabrics are hard to come by.

~My knowledge consists of reading the 2 paragraphs of instructions on the back of the gadget package and making one tiny rug. It's a really easy project to do!
You really don't need the turning gadgets to make a braided rug(they just make the final product prettier) but a lacing tool is pretty important. You could probably make one out of a scrap of wood or popsicle stick.
I'll probably be making more this winter so I'll keep the tutorial idea in mind when I make the next one so I can take in progress pics.~

I have almost decided that I need to 'bag' the quilting for awhile and go back to making some shirts.....or a robe......or a pair of pants but that means starting YET ANOTHER new project!

FF - don't you have some sewing 'in progress' that needs to be completed? I always have plenty - if I can find them, that is!! That's why I'm going to clean out my craft/sewing room - to find out what needs to be finished and what materials I have available. Sometimes I just lose track of all my goodies!!

All of my 'in progress' stuff is QUILTING.

I have the material for MULTIPLE shirts but haven't cut any out yet. Also have the material for two robes...but not cut out.

Somewhere along the line I picked up a BOLT of snowman flannel.....think I had shirts in mind for this. I don't need a snowman quilt. PLUS....(haven't 'confessed' this yet) I bought some flannel at the quilt show!!

Want to see it? I love it....hope it shows up well on here.......it was a REALLY GOOD price...of course!! I am too cheap to pay very much for fabric.....shop those sales! Yes! A batik flannel!!......only brushed on one side but I am thinking reverse the material for the cuffs, collar, etc. for accent.....unless I use another color.

It is the 'standard' width....40 - 42". It is from some people that I see OFTEN at shows.....I think there were 9 yards left on the bolt....someone had already bought some. It was SUPER CHEAP for flannel....think it was $6 or 6.50....I think 6. It feels like really good flannel but I have never owned any batik flannel. I love it!

I should trade some.....I need some red!

So.....I am headed out of the booth with it and I hear this gal behind me say...."I was waiting to see how much was going to be left and she BOUGHT it all!" .....in sort of a SNOTTY voice....I was tempted to turn around and say "yeah, eat your heart out!" Quilters after fabric can just be VICIOUS!!!
